Riku's Room

Riku was never scared of monsters under his bed because his bed was on the floor;
He was never scared of monsters in his closet because he had no closet;
and he wasn’t scared of the dark because he always had the gentle glow of starlight.

On the wall ya can't see (from left to right if you were in the not shown doorway) is the trophy case/book shelf, a hamper, a shoe rack, the door with a few coat hangers, and a bean bag in the corner.
He keeps his clothes in the big walk in closet next door which is also attached to a mighty fine bath room with a small balcony. The room next to that is a guest room which is mostly used by either Sora or a old family friend who's about 8 years older than Riku. The parents live on the floor above. Below is the kitchen, dining room, living room, another bathroom and the laundry room; All relatively spacious. The house is themed toward a mix of greek/mediteranian and North Carolina beach houses.
Yeah... I got bored and planned out their whole house...

I spent several weeks on this. I didn't spend the whole of those weeks on it because I was writing paper and trying to have a life, but I would devote days at a time on it. It took a long time! For example, the dresser on the right side took me an hour to do the lineart. Multiply that by everything else in the room and then color it, etc. and you'll start to get how long it took me. The vanishing lines are so wonky... and the actual picture was darker but it seemed too dark with the 2 windows and the skylight during the middle of the day... but now it seems a bit faded...

There are 2 versions! There's this one is the bright colorful one; the version he left in KH1. I don't think Riku would have much in his room, but since Sora's room is filled to the breaking point with stuff, I figured I might as well put some more stuff in it. So his mom designed most of his room. She convinced him to put the mirror and pictures up and she's the one that painted it and set up his desk, etc. There is actually a tackle box in there too, but then the chair hid it ^^u

Oh, okay! So he's got his trash, his desk, chair, lamp, computer, speakers (he's gotta be hip. The speakers were a gift from the family friend, Vidine, and the computer was from his parents). The bag o' fishing gear (he's got a harpoon. I love it!). His bed which is basically a matress on the ground. There is actually something small under there so it can roll, but it might as well be on the ground. The bed's all nice sea colors that go with Riku's eyes. Behind his bed is his 'secret chest'. It's where he keeps all his precious/cool stuff. It seems like something a fun loving small child would have. He's got a paupu fruit plushie. I couldn't resist. Notice, however, that it's not actually on his bed. Riku doesn't sleep with it. On his wall is a big collection of cool shells. It took a while to compile that. It was a family project. Then he's got his dresser with his keys (I could resist again. The key to his house would be on that, maybe his locker too). He's got his mirror and a bunch of picture of himself, his friends, and there's one of his fam. I love his fam. Then there's a little shelf. I was going to put a real phone on it, but screw that, his phone's on the wall outside the door. He's got a cellphone there instead 'cause Japanese kids have cellphones. It's gold... He's got his wooden sword 'cause that's the one thing in his room we know he actual owns...
And his rug was also his mom's idea. It's the greek labarinth (gah, I can't spell. I think there's a Y in there!). Walking it can be very meditative. It's cool.
